A Ward Councillor is the person elected to represent a specific area in the City Council. They speak for the community, make sure residents’ concerns are heard, and help ensure services like water, electricity  waste collection, and road maintenance are delivered. They also have budget and resource duties: they help shape the municipal budget, guide how resources are allocated in their ward, and monitor whether projects and spending are done properly. They share council decisions with the community and help residents take part in local planning and problem-solving
